Knauf PFT prepares template for BIM 4D
Knauf Gips and Knauf PFT have created a template with their products for use in a BIM project´s construction phases – 4D BIM, or LOD 400. It has been developed in Autodesk Revit.
Knauf Gips is renowned as one of the world’s leading manufacturers of modern insulation materials, drywalling systems, plasters and accessories, thermal insulation composite systems, paints, floor screed, floor systems, and construction equipment and tools. Knauf PFT is the inventor of the mechanical single-layer plastering technique. The method of mixing and applying mortar have undergone substantial changes in which Knauf PFT machines have become the tools of today.
Through the phases of a construction project, the time and planning phase is one of the most important for the development of a project, since its good execution can save time and money while its poor execution can place the whole project in jeopardy. This phase is commonly known as 4D BIM or Level of Development (LOD) 400.
Knauf PFT BIM 4D Site preparation file
The template generated by Knauf Gips and Knauf PFT is tailor- made to help in a project´s BIM construction phases, especially within the site preparation phase. It makes use of Autodesk Revit´s phasing tool in order to select which materials will be created or present, and which ones will not.
This template includes the following BIM products:
- Knauf PFT G4 Standard mixing pump – to be placed in the phases/area of the project where mortars will be used.
- Knauf Silo – to help with the project´s planning and logistics.
- Knauf Gypsum Bags – to help with the supply and logistics of construction. The number of bags are editable.
- Knauf Gypsum Boards – to help with the supply and logistics of construction. The number of boards are editable.
The template is available to download here.
The file includes sheets, as well as an accompanying PDF, that explains how to use phases in Revit as well as showing the Knauf Gips and Knauf PFT products within a sample construction project.
The aim of this template is to help AEC professionals in improving the performance of projects in BIM 4D.
