Madrid, 28 May 2026.- Sika recently held the technical seminar “Innovative systems to transform infrastructure and industrial construction”. An exclusive event for property owners and engineering firms in the sector, it took place at the EQA Laboratorios facilities in Fuente Vaqueros (Granada) and was attended by around a hundred professionals.
Through technical tests conducted under controlled conditions, attendees were able to observe the real-world performance of some of the company’s most advanced solutions, clarify any doubts and consult with experts from Sika and EQA Laboratorios.
“These initiatives are key to enabling professionals to verify the effectiveness and performance of solutions when faced with complex structural challenges,” says Rafael Fontalba, CEO of EQA Laboratorios. “It is essential that professionals are able to engage with this type of activity, learn and resolve any queries directly with the experts.”
“Holding workshops, in collaboration with leading centres such as EQA, allows us to demonstrate how innovation in construction translates into safety, durability and efficiency for infrastructure,” says Cristobal Lopez-Cortijo, Sales Manager for Engineered Systems Infrastructure at Sika.
During the workshop, Sika’s specialists carried out various technical tests that allowed attendees to see first-hand the performance of technologies for the sector. Thus, tests were carried out to demonstrate the increase in the structural capacity of concrete through the use of resin-bonded carbon fibre systems. Some new developments were also previewed, such as systems using bonded FPO sheets, self-healing solutions and the integration of systems for the installation of solar panels.
In addition, demonstrations of structural anchoring and paving technologies were held, and “the use and application of water-reactive injections and high-chemical-resistance coatings were explained”, according to EQA. “These conferences have been an excellent opportunity to showcase some of our work, exchange experiences and move forward on the path towards an innovative, safe and resilient sector”.
“The event gave us the opportunity to clarify technical queries and share a practical learning experience with industry professionals. At Sika, we would like to highlight the collaboration of EQA, which made its facilities, qualified staff and advanced equipment available for this event to ensure the rigour of the tests carried out,” concludes López-Cortijo.
