SISTECCER, the International Facade Congress, has confirmed the date for its 14th edition.

Throughout its 25-year history, SISTECCER has established itself as a meeting place and forum for professionals and specialists in technologies applied to building envelopes. This new edition will take place on 13 November in Buenos Aires, with live streaming.

Buenos Aires, August 2025. ALUAR, VASA and Dow, the organisers of SISTECCER, the International Facade Congress, have announced the 14th edition of the event, which brings together professionals and leading experts in building envelope technologies from Argentina and abroad. The event will take place on 13 November at the Alvear Icon Hotel (Puerto Madero) and will be streamed live.

SISTECCER is aimed at architects, engineers, consultants, manufacturers, architectural glass processors, manufacturers of supplies for the enclosure industry and representatives of construction companies.

The conference has established itself as a benchmark for professional exchange and updating on technological solutions applied to façades. Its main objective is to disseminate the possibilities offered by the products and technologies available in the construction market and to bring professionals closer to the main global trends.

The SISTECCER academic committee—made up of architect Gabriela Elizabeth Nadal (ALUAR), architect Daniel Bergant (VASA), architect Elisa Zicarelli (VASA), engineer Leonardo Spinelli (ALUAR), Engineer Emir Debastiani (DOW) and Engineer Juan Beltramo (DOW)—defined ‘Innovation, Reliability and Sustainability’ as the thematic axes for this edition. ‘Integrating these aspects into façade design allows architecture to not only reduce its environmental impact, but also offer durable, adaptable and forward-looking solutions,’ they said.

SISTECCER is a meeting point for a highly specialised sector that offers complex solutions, a space where the various players who design, manufacture and market each component of a building envelope, which must function as an integrated system, come together and strengthen their ties.

The programme has already been defined, with prestigious international speakers confirmed. This edition will feature four keynote speeches, including Wil Laufs from Lauf Engineering, François Guillermot from Saint Gobain, Diego Abramzon from Estudio Abramzon and Rodrigo Grassi from Estudio Aisenson.

Its members agree on highlighting the responsibility involved in carrying out an initiative of this type for 25 years and 13 editions, surpassing themselves with each edition and meeting the expectations it raises. ‘It is a source of pride and great satisfaction for our team to participate in the organisation of the congress, to bring new trends closer and to generate content of interest to architects, developers, construction companies and the entire public in the sector who accompany us in each edition,’ they share.

The innovations and developments that have been presented by specialists over the years have been progressively incorporated into works and projects. In fact, in its early days, SISTECCER highlighted laminated glass, double glazing and aluminium profiles with thermal breaks as innovations: ‘And today, more than 20 years later, these solutions are now standard in the market and have been fully incorporated by the public,’ says Nadal.

‘In recent years, SISTECCER has been greatly enriched by inviting numerous specialists from abroad who have contributed their diverse experiences,’ notes Bergant. ‘They addressed very specific issues within façade architecture, areas that were not so developed here. This allowed us to begin to analyse in greater depth issues that were previously dealt with in a more general way in our country.’

Sustainability, Reliability, Innovation

The conference agenda will address the three main themes of this edition. ‘We are seeking to achieve a combination of content related to design, technology applied to projects—including prototypes in development—and experiences in construction. A diverse proposal that will undoubtedly be of great interest to attendees,’ anticipates the organising committee.

Sustainability will be a cross-cutting theme in all the presentations. ‘Initially, we talked about sustainability in facades and the energy efficiency of buildings. Today, the focus has broadened: we talk about sustainability within companies and in the manufacturing processes of our products. Being sustainable is in our DNA; we cannot conceive of any other way of producing,’ emphasise spokespersons from ALUAR and VASA.

In turn, reliability will be addressed from the legal framework and safety regulations that govern all components of a façade. ‘We are defining presentations focused on accident safety, efficiency and technical specifications. This is a demand that we have received from façade builders and carpenters, as those directly responsible for the product they offer,’ the committee points out.

Finally, innovation will be one of the main themes of the conference, with the presentation of trends and technological advances, including ventilated façades and the application of artificial intelligence in façade systems.

‘We will bring together local and regional professionals who will share details of notable projects as a starting point for discussing façades and articulating all the issues,’ anticipates Zicarelli. He also clarifies that solutions for different scales of work will be presented: ‘We want to show practical solutions for both homes and residential buildings, because complexity has reached this type of work with a great deal of added value.’
