Trespa International develops the most comprehensive BIM library of façade cladding panels on the planet.
Trespa International B.V. is a leading manufacturer of innovative materials in the field of architecture, internationally recognised as the premier producer of high-quality panels for façade cladding, decorative façades and interior surfaces.
Since its foundation in 1960, Trespa has worked globally in close cooperation with architects, designers, installers, distributors, raw material suppliers and end users around the world. Trespa focuses on the development of new products, combining the best manufacturing technologies with intelligent solutions for the architectural world.
Unique in-house technologies
Innovation has always been the cornerstone of Trespa and will continue to be the basis for the company’s future. In 2015, Trespa International BV developed the next generation of its Electron Beam Curing (EBC) technology in-house, giving Trespa® Meteon®, Trespa® Izeon® and Pura ® NFC by Trespa their exceptional weather resistance and colour stability, while giving Trespa® TopLab® PLUS its resistance to scratches and chemicals.
These types and products have been modelled in BIM format for professionals who require the products for national and international projects.
Trespa International BIM Library
The Trespa BIM Library is the largest of its kind internationally. It consists of more than 2,200 files in Revit, IFC, CAD and Sketchup formats.
The BIM objects can be downloaded in Spanish, German, English and French.
The BIM objects can be downloaded free of charge from the Trespa website and the Bimetica.com platform.
Trespa’s BIM objects meet the real needs of design and construction professionals.
Trespa’s goal is to provide professionals with specification tools so that they can develop a real project in an early virtual phase.
Trespa BIM Library with GDO-BIM Standard
The GDO-BIM Standard is the most widely used internationally for the development of BIM Libraries and the one with the most standardised BIM content available on the internet.
The data structure of Trespa objects reflects the multi-combination of Psets or product information in relation to LOIN, in relation to the phases and dimensions worked on in BIM projects.
This combination system aims to facilitate the understanding and functionality of the information parameters at all times, so that every professional involved in the process can manage and visualise the information without having to delete information in the early stages or dump data in later stages.
Compatibility of the Trespa BIM Library with the European Wood BIM Library.
The European Union, through the Horizon 2020 consortium called ‘Build in Wood’, has developed the European BIM Library for Wood Construction in collaboration with the company Bimetica. One of the objectives of the project is to develop more environmentally friendly buildings in the Eurozone, promoting the use of BIM objects made of wood products to design wooden buildings.
This timber BIM library has been developed in accordance with the GDO-BIM standard, thus ensuring direct compatibility in the use and combination of data structures with Trespa BIM objects.
By combining Trespa’s digitised products with those in the European Wood Construction BIM Library, it will be possible to develop more eco-efficient projects that eventually should comply with the European Union’s environmental and regulatory objectives. This facilitates the work of professionals in the planning and construction of BIM projects.
